Job Summary
Married couples serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, residing in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule, with eventual placement as a Houseparent in the same student home. Benefits include a per-person salary of $44,768 (≈$168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus; marital and age requirements apply for both spouses (minimum two years married, age 27+). Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided as part of the position.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
