Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in two-person teams, residing in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person with comprehensive insurance, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO. Qualifications emphasize youth experience, a legally married two-person couple for at least two years, age 27+, high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, valid driver’s license, and compliance with campus policies (no alcohol, smoke-free, weapon-free). Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- High school diploma or GED required
