Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent roles for married couples located on the Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA. The role involves supervising and mentoring a group of about 813 students in on-campus student homes, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, with an initial nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule before transitioning to a placed houseparent in the same student home. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple with housing, meals on duty, utilities, and more), comprehensive insurance options, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Proselytizing prohibited while leading devotions and Chapel
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Completion of individual applications by both spouses
