Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex) for Milton Hershey School. A two-person couple resides in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 813 students, including daily supervision, mentorship, and overseeing household routines. Responsibilities include administering medications and ensuring student wellness, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a stable home with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 (total couple compensation ~ $168,000), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Requires relocation to Hershey, PA, and completion of individual applications by both spouses. A valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans are required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Mission aligns with Judeo-Christian values; proselytizing prohibited.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two spouses, legally married, at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Willingness to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lead daily devotions and accompany students to chapel
