Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: married couples live on-campus in student homes and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a legally married two-year relationship, both spouses aged 27+, ability to lift 50 lbs, valid driver’s license, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
