Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex Houseparents) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule and may transition to a placed Houseparent living in the same student home. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year marriage required (couples legally married for at least two years)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models for students
- Two-person role for couples; both spouses must complete individual employment applications
