Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and mentoring a group of approximately 8–13 students. They provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee household budgeting/reporting. The nine-days-on/three-days-off work cycle precedes a transition to a Placed Houseparent role with a single student home. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training; this is a two-person, married-couple role with on-campus housing, meals, and other utilities included. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Desire to lead devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on campus
- Willingness to follow a structured, on-campus home life for students
