Job Summary
Two-person, live-in Flex Houseparent roles at Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Kanosh, UT/Hershey, PA context, responsible for supervising and guiding a group of approximately 8–13 students in an on-campus home. Couples reside in student homes, provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition to a placed houseparent role over time. Requires a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to relocate with relocation assistance available. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Benefits include salary per person ($46,917) totaling ~180k per couple, comprehensive health benefits, retirement plans, paid time off, and relocation support.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year marriage minimum
- Spouses aged 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to reside on-campus in a student home
- Ability to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and chapel services
