Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, providing care, supervision, and mentorship to a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, managing student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off to a placed houseparent role with the same student home. This is a two-person, married-couple position with relocation support and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
