Job Summary
Two-person, married-couple role to reside on campus as Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship of a group of approximately 813 students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications and ensuring student wellness, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine days on duty followed by three days off to a Placed Houseparent assignment living with the same group of students. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (about $168,000 total per couple with housing, meals, utilities, and more), comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, HSAs/FSAs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Two-spouse engagement: both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- No alcohol on duty; smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Commitment to student success
