Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent roles for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Live on campus in student homes with a group of 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance; manage household routines, student schedules, and budgeting; administer medications and supervise student wellness; drive students to activities and lead developmental and recreational programs; lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel; initial schedule is nine days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living arrangement. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to drive student vans, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with youth or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
