Job Summary
House Parents – Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus in student homes in Hershey, PA, serving as a two-person married couple to supervise, mentor, and guide groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, household routines, medication administration, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role within the same student home. Initial nine-on, three-off schedule with eventual continued placement in a single student home. Benefits include salary per person (~$44,768) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Two-person, married-couple eligibility is a must, with both spouses completing individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year married-status minimum
- Two spouses age 27 or older
- Two-person role for couples
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Experience with youth either paid or volunteer
- Proselytizing prohibited during duties
- Relocation assistance provided
