Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex Houseparents) reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from flexible placements to fixed student-home placements. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; includes relocation to Hershey, PA, with on-campus housing and meals during duty hours; includes comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse requirement for consideration
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Desire to lead students in daily devotions and Chapel services
- Experience with youth preferred
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
