Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School are a Full-time Flex Houseparents duo, living in on-campus student homes and caring for a group of approximately 8–13 students. The role includes daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially, the schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent—continuing to live and work with the same student group in their home. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total family compensation around $168,000, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance and paid training, and PTO. Qualifications require youth experience, a valid U.S. driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a safe, faith-based campus. The role requires both spouses to complete individual employment applications and relocate to Hershey, PA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse two-year marriage minimum
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor youth
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on-campus
- Completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
