Job Summary
House Parents (Flex Houseparents) are a Full-time, two-person couple role living on the Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA, responsible for supervising and guiding a group of 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Initially, nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a permanent houseparent assignment in a single student home. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and housing/meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- both spouses must be age 27 or older
- high school diploma or GED required
- valid U.S. driver’s license
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- comfortable leading devotions and chapel services
- no alcohol on duty
- smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- no more than three dependent children in home
- ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- commitment to student success by both spouses
