Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School, providing supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of about 813 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and maintaining a structured, family-like home environment. Schedule initially consists of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living in the same student home. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to relocate to the campus setting; relocation assistance and paid training are provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be legally married (two-year minimum) for both spouses
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proven integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
