Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School: a two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role for married couples living on-campus in student homes, responsible for supervising and mentoring a group of ~813 students, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and planning developmental and recreational activities. Initially nine days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. Requires two individuals who are legally married for at least two years, both spouses age 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; proselytizing prohibited. Relocation assistance provided; salary per person $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits and training."
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. drivers license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
