Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School: Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and following a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule before transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with the same students. Requirements include experience with youth, two-year marriage minimum, age 27+, valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans, high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models for students
