Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, providing care, supervision, and mentorship to a group of approximately 813 students; responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting; schedule initially is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Relocation assistance is provided and two spouses (married for at least two years and both aged 27+) are required to apply and work together in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside in on-campus student homes
- Complete individual employment applications for consideration
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Couple-based role requiring both spouses to apply independently
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
