Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off to a placed houseparent role with the same student group. The position includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training; on-duty housing and meals are provided. The role emphasizes mentorship, discipline, faith-based activities, and a safe, structured home environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-spouse two-year marriage minimum
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Proven integrity and professionalism; role models for students
