Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex Houseparents) reside on-campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor a group of 8–13 students in a family-like home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, planning activities, administering medications, transporting students to activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from nine-on/three-off schedules to a placed home with a stable student group. Two-person, married-couple role with relocation to Hershey, PA; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement, paid time off, and relocation assistance. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student home vans, ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples
- Married couples eligible and must apply individually
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Age requirements: both spouses 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Two-year minimum marriage
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Ability to complete individual applications for both spouses
- Background in supervising and mentoring youth
