Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes and provide supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, managing schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a flex placement to a placed houseparent living with the same student group. The role emphasizes caregiving, youth development, and a structured, family-like home environment within Milton Hershey School. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required, with a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, plus comprehensive benefits and paid relocation training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Legally married for at least two years (two-person role)
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Experience working with youth (volunteer or paid)
- Residence on campus in on-site student homes
- Ability to drive student vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol permitted during duty
