Job Summary
House Parents - a two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School, residing on-campus in a student home located in Elizabeth, NJ, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, administering medications, driving to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, with a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule and progression to a placed houseparent. Relocation assistance provided; compensation per person around $46,917 plus benefits; requires married couples, both spouses 27+, and a high school diploma or GED. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to lift to 50 lbs; dedicated to a safe, smoke-free, weapon-free campus with limited dependent children; training provided. Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
