Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: married couples reside on-campus in a student home, providing care, supervision, and mentorship to a group of about 813 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; salary per person is $44,768 with total compensation for a couple around $168,000. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Proselytizing prohibited (Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel)
