Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents on Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA reside in on-campus student homes to care for a group of 8–13 students, providing supervision, mentorship, and daily routines. Responsibilities include supervising and guiding students, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role over time. The role operates on a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule with eventual long-term placement in a single student home; relocation is provided as part of the position and benefits include medical/dental/vision, life and disability coverage, retirement savings, time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications

- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
