Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School (full-time Flex Houseparents) live on-campus in student homes in Hershey, PA, and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for a group of about 813 students. The two-person, married-couple team is responsible for daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off duty cycle and later transitions to a Placed Houseparent living with the same student group. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse role must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. drivers license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Proven integrity and professionalism
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
