Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: a married couple resides in on-campus student homes and provides care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-on/two-off cycle (nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off) and may transition to a Placed Houseparent position living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year married requirement for the couple
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples living on-campus
