Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on-campus in student homes, a two-person married couple role supervising a group of ~8–13 students with duties including daily supervision, mentorship, routine management, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and budgeting/reporting. The nine days on, followed by three days off schedule transitions to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. The position offers relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits, with salary per person of $44,768 (approx. $168,000 total per couple including housing and meals).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
