Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to supervise 8–13 students, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and chapel attendance, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, with eventual placement into a named Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation per couple (~$168,000), relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse requirement: both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Two years or more of marriage (at least two years)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to model positive behavior for students
- Proximity to on-campus housing and ability to reside in on-campus student homes
