Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and care for a group of approximately 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The schedule starts with a nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with progression to a Placed Houseparent role living in the same student home. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid time off, and other benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
