Job Summary
Two-person married couple is hired as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School to live in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and activities for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and budgeting/reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a future transition to a placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person (~$44,768) with total couple compensation around $168,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, and paid time off. Qualifications require experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; the role requires a legally married two-person couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, and adherence to campus rules including no alcohol on duty and a smoke- and weapon-free environment. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
