Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex) reside in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA, and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a Flex Houseparent to a placed Houseparent with a consistent student-home assignment. The role emphasizes a structured, family-like environment to foster students’ academic, emotional, and social development; benefits include salary per person, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. The job is a two-person, married-couple role requiring both spouses to apply individually.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for married couple
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; able to serve as role models for students
- Complete individual employment applications (both spouses) for consideration
