Job Summary
Two-person full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing care, guidance, and support. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role. The role requires a married couple, both spouses age 27 or older, to live on campus and work a schedule of nine days on duty followed by three days off, with relocation assistance provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Legally married for at least two years (two-spouse requirement)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to serve as role models for students
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to reside on-campus with students
- Willingness to complete individual employment applications for both spouses
