Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex) at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Married couples reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of about 813 students; duties include supervising routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a nine-on/three-off schedule to a placed home. Requires two-person, legally married couple ages 27+, with a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and housing/meal provisions. Compensation is $44,768 per person annually (approx. $168,000 total per couple). Both spouses must apply individually for consideration. Two-person role, on-campus housing, and a strong emphasis on student wellbeing and faith-based activities are core elements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
