Job Summary
House Parents at Milton Hershey School are a two-person, full-time flex role for married couples living on campus in student homes, supervising 8–13 students, providing care, mentorship, and guidance, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a single student home. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and ability to lead students in devotions; couples must be legally married for at least two years and both spouses must be 27 or older. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive benefits and on-campus housing in Hershey, PA.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse commitment; both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
