Job Summary
House Parents - Full-time Flex Houseparents for married couples at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, supervising routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, budget oversight, and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768), comprehensive insurance options, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO. Requires two-person married couple with at least two years of marriage, both spouses age 27+, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, high school diploma or GED, and commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus. Preference for experience with youth, ability to lead devotions and chapel services, and willingness to live on campus in Hershey, PA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in a residential setting
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and live on campus
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Complete individual employment applications (both spouses)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Proven ability to manage household routines and student schedules
- Experience in budgeting and reporting for a household
- Ability to drive students to activities
- Desire to engage in developmental and recreational activities with students
- Ability to supervise and mentor students in a structured home environment
- Commitment to Judeo-Christian values (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to transition from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent role
