Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA to supervise and mentor groups of approximately 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, with a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, and eventually transition to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. The role is a two-person, married-couple position with relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to campus policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to lead students in devotions and accompany them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
