Job Summary
House Parents are a Full-time Flex role for married couples at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. The couple-resident position involves living in on-campus student homes with 8–13 students, providing care, supervision, guidance, and support, plus daily supervision, routines management, medication administration, driving to activities, planning and leading development and recreational activities, daily devotions, and Sunday Chapel. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include relocation assistance, medical/dental/vision, retirement options, paid time off, and additional housing/meal provisions. Requires a two-person married couple (both spouses must apply) and a commitment to safety, sobriety, and the school’s faith-informed environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; serve as role models for students
- Background in youth work or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to reside on-campus with students in on-site homes
- Ability to pass any required background checks and onboarding for school staff
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
