Job Summary
House Parents in a full-time Flex role reside on-campus in student homes in Hershey, PA, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and family-like care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, driving to activities, planning/developing developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role transitions from nine days on, three days off to a placed Houseparent arrangement with the same group of students. Benefits include relocation assistance and comprehensive health/dental/vision coverage, retirement options, and paid training. Must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses age 27+, have a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Both spouses must submit individual applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-spouse eligibility: both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
