Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex) reside on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor approximately 8–13 students per home, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and lead developmental and recreational activities, and lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel; initially nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent for ongoing housing and student support. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and substantial total compensation per couple when including housing and meals.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED required
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
