Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School on campus in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and supervise ~8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The position starts with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and may transition to aPlaced Houseparent role with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768), comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and other benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Married couple
- Legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- To be considered, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
