Job Summary
House Parents (Flex) provide care, supervision, and mentorship to 8–13 students in on-campus homes at Milton Hershey School. The role is a Full-time, two-person assignment for married couples, initially supporting multiple student homes with a nine-on/three-off schedule and eventually transitioning to a placed houseparent for a consistent student group. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and ensuring student wellness in a structured, family-like environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of marriage minimum (spouses)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two-person, married-couple eligibility; each spouse must complete individual employment applications
- Willingness to reside on-campus in student homes
- Desire to provide supervision, mentorship, and support for 8–13 students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
