Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: married couples reside on-campus in student homes with approximately 8–13 students, providing care, supervision, mentorship, and support. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning/engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as Houseparents living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for married couples; both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid driver’s license to operate student home vans
