Job Summary
Two-person married couple Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA to supervise, mentor, and support 8–13 students per home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent. Initially, schedules are nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later, couples may live and work with the same group in their own student home. Benefits include a relocation package, comprehensive health benefits, retirement options, paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
Additional Requirements
- no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- prohibited to proselytize during role
