Job Summary
House Parent role for married couples living on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading devotions and chapel, budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a fixed student-home assignment. Benefits include relocation assistance, health/dental/vision, retirement plans, paid time off, and on-site housing. Requires two-person married couple, ages 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans, ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
