Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor groups of ~8–13 students, provide care and guidance, administer medications, transport students to activities, plan developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-consecutive-days-on duty schedule followed by three days off, with progression to a placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance options, retirement savings, paid time off, and a total compensation around $168,000 per couple (roughly $84,000 per person) including housing and meals. Both spouses must apply individually for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Legally married for at least two years (two-person role)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
