Job Summary
House Parent for Milton Hershey School: Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on-campus in Providence, RI to supervise 8–13 students, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a dedicated student home. Relocation package and comprehensive benefits are included; must be a legally married couple with both spouses ages 27+, and both must fill individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
Additional Requirements
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
