Job Summary
House Parent (Full-time Flex) roles for married couples at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise 8–13 students, provide care, mentorship, and a structured family-like environment. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, medication administration, transporting students to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, leading devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent living arrangement with the same group of students. Work schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a consistent home. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance options, retirement plans, paid time off, and on-duty meals and housing.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
