Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule before transitioning to a placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Two-person, married couple with at least two years of marriage
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Experience with youth (volunteer or work)
- Ability to work in a campus residential setting
- Planned to transition to placed houseparent role
