Job Summary
Milton Hershey School seeks married couples to join as Full-time Flex Houseparents in residence at an on-campus student home, providing care, supervision, guidance, and structured, family-like support for 8–13 students. The role includes daily supervision, scheduling, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, budgeting and reporting, and a rotating nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule with eventual placement as a Stable Houseparent in the same home. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, willingness to lead religious services, and a strong commitment to student success. Two-spouse, legally married arrangement preferred/required for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role model for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor youth in a residence/educational setting
- Flex Houseparents to reside in on-campus homes and follow a rotating duty schedule
- Willingness to participate in religious services as described (daily devotions, Sunday Chapel)
- Relocation to Hershey, PA as part of position
- Full-time employment status for both spouses
